Albuquerque, New Mexico
A couple flew all the way from Alaska for a third-trimester abortion. (So much for the talking point that late-term abortion is a myth created by pro-lifers!)
Fortunately, the Albuquerque 40 Days for Life team was there to greet them--and to help empower them to choose life.
That's not easy to do. It can be more challenging to deter women from having late-term abortions, especially if they've already spent money on travel and accommodations.
But God answered the prayers of Phil and his fellow prayer warriors who were on hand. "We choose life and we are keeping our baby," the couple announced three times.
They caught a flight back home to Alaska that night with their baby safe and sound.
Daule, Ecuador
When a 40 Days for Life volunteer's son told his girlfriend that he wanted to keep their baby, she ended the relationship.
The man's mother asked the local campaign leader for prayers. Even when the family believed the abortion had already happened, they prayed harder.
God touched the expectant mom's heart, and at the last moment, she changed her mind! She called her child's father and promised she wouldn't go through with the abortion.
"This story reminds us that no prayer is in vain, that God hears those who persevere in faith, and that every life matters," said Legny, who leads the campaign.
Bournemouth, England
Young pro-lifers led a 40 Days for Life youth event right at the edge of the buffer zone around the BPAS abortion facility.
A few young-at-heart older volunteers joined them as they led prayers and songs celebrating the dignity of the unborn and God's love for humanity!
"While mourning the one-third of Gen Z lost to abortion, they looked with hope at a renaissance of the culture of life in our land," wrote Livia, the local campaign leader.
