Sometimes it takes a while before God shows us the fruits of our prayers.
But it was worth the wait for Tammy in Orange, California, who recently received a message from a woman she had encountered while praying at her local 40 Days for Life vigil years ago.
"I will always have a special place in my heart for you," the note said. "I thank God constantly for meeting you and having that interaction [which] helped tremendously [in] keeping my baby."
The woman shared how much Tammy's support and listening ear meant to her back when she was considering abortion--and how much it still means to her and to her little boy today.
"It's been the best decision ever," she said. "He is loved, and I'm sooo grateful for him. ... Thank you, Tammy!"
Ealing, England
The Ealing 40 Days for Life vigil is held 500 meters away from the local abortion facility thanks to a buffer zone law that bans pro-life speech near abortion centers.
"By the grace of God, we are still able to reach women coming for abortions from here as well as speak to other members of the public," wrote the local campaign team.
Two of those members of the public were a man and woman who approached prayer warriors to share how nearly a decade ago they had come for an abortion.
But before they went through with it, they spoke to a 40 Days for Life participant who showed them information on fetal development, which helped them decide not to abort.
The couple proudly showed the vigil volunteers a photo of the boy saved by their prayers--and of that boy's little brother!
Yuba City, California
A woman in Yuba City received a pin depicting an unborn baby's feet from the local 40 Days for Life campaign. She also got an invitation to join the vigil.
"40 Days for Life saved my grandson!" the woman exclaimed in response.
Her daughter had attended a Christian concert back in the fall of 2017 at which a 40 Days for Life announcement was made. Because of that announcement, the expectant mom decided that night not to go through with the abortion.
Montclair, New Jersey
A motorist pulled up to the Montclair vigil and gestured for participants to approach.
"I want to thank you for being here," she told them. "Over nine years ago, I came here, and because of ladies like you, I have my son. He turns [nine] today."
The proud mama showed off a photo of her son, thanked pro-lifers again, and drove away.
And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me. … See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father.”

Lord, keep every child free from harm. Especially in moments of despair, help them to sense the presence of your angels watching over them. Provide a loving home for every child in need, and strengthen and sustain adoptive and foster parents to imitate your fatherly care. Amen.
