The largest abortion provider in Vienna, Austria, also serves as the site of the Museum of Abortion and Contraception.
That doesn't exactly sound like my idea of a good time.
"Don't abort your trip [to Vienna] without a visit…" reads a comment on a prominent travel review website.
That cavalier remark is further proof that only one side of the abortion debate takes abortion seriously.
In fact, the 40 Days for Life team in Vienna takes abortion so seriously that they're standing vigil 24 hours a day.
"We shall not budge for 40 days and 40 nights!" Vienna leader Thomas exhorted his volunteers.
"What on earth are you doing there in the night?! Does that even help?" he continued. "Yes, I really believe so."
Thomas and his team have reason to believe. They have already seen a 40 Days for Life campaign help close an abortion facility in Vienna.
Few people will encounter the Vienna vigil in the wee hours of the morning. That's OK, because prayer warriors are speaking first and foremost with the Almighty.
"God is all-powerful, and therefore prayer is powerful!" Thomas said.
Even in the middle of the night.
Casper, Wyoming
The Wyoming Legislature enacted legislation that led to the closure of Casper's abortion facility...at least for now.
"We are continuing 40 Days for Life with hope they may not reopen," reported Bob, who leads the local campaign.
"[The abortion industry] filed a lawsuit against the state and is trying to get a restraining order on the law," said Ross, who helps Bob coordinate the vigil. "We will continue to have our prayer vigils day and night here in Casper."
Hempstead, New York
Nearly 100 pro-lifers marched from a Long Island church to the Hempstead Planned Parenthood.
"It was powerful to see over 90 40 Days for Life prayer warriors in a procession to Planned Parenthood to give witness to human life and pray," wrote Michael, the campaign leader. "Please try and give at least one hour a week to be a voice for the voiceless by praying in front of Planned Parenthood."
A man in his 30s thanked vigil participants for their presence. "It's because of people like you, my mother didn't abort me."
Vigil participants have already referred three women to the local pregnancy help center for support!
And a voice came from the heavens, saying, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
--Matthew 3:17
Dear God, you are a good and gracious father. Help us to stand firm in our identity as your sons and daughters so that we might share your love with everyone we encounter. Heal the wounds caused by our shortcomings and the shortcomings of others. We pray that every parent and child might know that you love them more than anyone else in the world ever can. Amen.
