Central America
A 40 Days for Life leader in Central America received a phone call from an employee of the local hospital...
...revealing that the hospital performs abortions--in violation of the country's pro-life laws. The employee expressed her regret for working at the hospital and shared that she personally had an abortion there decades ago.
We are not reporting the vigil location to protect the identity of the woman, who plans to join the 40 Days for Life vigil in front of her workplace.
"We hope that she can find forgiveness and the love of Christ," said 40 Days for Life director of Latin American campaigns Lourdes Varela.
Watertown, New York
Flora in Watertown is one of numerous leaders reporting increased vigil participation this campaign.
What's the secret to her success?
"Having help promoting and recruiting," Flora explained. "I brought on two of my volunteers as vigil coordinators."
Richard and Jamie have been visiting churches, speaking to pastors, and recruiting new volunteers from their own churches and from among their friends.
"I'm so thankful God sent me Richard and Jamie," Flora added.
And he said to them, "Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?" But they did not understand what he said to them. He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them; and his mother kept all these things in her heart.

Lord, we trust that you are always with us even as we encounter the mysteries of life, both great and small. Please give us the grace to accept your will for our lives, especially in the moments when we cannot fully understand how your plan will work together for good.
