If anxiety about having one baby leads a family to book an abortion appointment, you would think that choosing life for twins would be completely out of the question.
But frequently, the opposite is true. The presence of a second baby in the womb is, instead, a reminder of the humanity of unborn children, even in the earliest stages of pregnancy.
That was the case at one of the most notorious abortion facilities in Illinois, where a grandmother was forcing her own daughter to have an abortion...until a second baby was discovered.
"Twins were saved today!!" wrote Rose, the Granite City 40 Days for Life leader.
"It's amazing that the twin sibling saved the other sibling!" Rose continued. "The grandmother was forcing her daughter to have an abortion, but when [she] found out it was twins, she canceled the appointment."
The family even managed to get a refund on their down payment.
"GOD is sooo good!" Rose celebrated.
Zagreb, Croatia
The report from Zagreb was short...but doubly sweet.
"We know of two babies spared from abortion," wrote 40 Days for Life director of international campaigns Robert Colquhoun. "Twins!"
Orange, California
When Matthew and Lindsay reached out to a Planned Parenthood client to assure her that there is help available for her and her baby...
...the expectant mother approached them with an ultrasound image showing TWO babies.
Lindsay shared pregnancy help resources with the pregnant mom and promised to pray.
While we don't know for sure whether the twins were saved, it looks promising!
"The woman smiled and said she was reconsidering [abortion] and thanked them for their help," wrote Alejandra, the longtime Orange leader. "Please keep this young woman and her babies in your prayers."
On the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala came to the tomb early in the morning while it was still dark, and saw the stone removed from the tomb.
--John 20:1
Father, you never fail. Time and time again you have triumphed: with the overturn of Roe v. Wade, with the conversion of abortion doctors, with the courageous mothers who have chosen life, and with the countless babies saved against all odds. Why, then, do I doubt that you will help us now? I believe that you will make abortion unthinkable in this country. I believe that you will help us empower women to choose life. I believe that no setback is permanent. I believe that you have a plan far greater than anything I could ever conceive on my own. I surrender the past, present, and future to you. Amen.
